Persona generation is the process of creating detailed representations of target user types based on demographic, behavioral, and contextual data, increasingly done with AI to build more accurate and research-grounded profiles at scale.

A user persona is a composite profile of a type of user: their age, role, technical comfort, goals, frustrations, and typical context of use. Teams use personas to make design and product decisions more concrete, replacing vague references to 'the user' with a specific, imaginable person. Traditionally, personas are built by researchers who synthesize findings from interviews, surveys, and observation into a written profile.
